Now that Thanksgiving is over, it’s time to start getting ready for Christmas. We at Ruffgers hope you had a happy Thanksgiving with your friends and family, but now it’s time for the other holidays.

Christmas is many people’s favorite time of year and that is mainly because of the presents and seeing family. For dogs, they get excited about the treats, decorations, and lots of petting. Yes, there are many great memories at this time of year, but many of us don’t know that Christmas is a dangerous time for dogs and pets in general.

While looking for things to write about this week, I came across a great article from WTOP with reasons why the happiest time of the year isn’t so great for dogs. Dogs are like infants, during the holidays there are so many new and exciting things for them to experience and see. Though beautiful, Christmas trees and ornaments and all pretty holiday plants can lead to serious harm to your dog.

We at Ruffgers think of you, our readers, as family and this is not a topic to be taken lightly. We want you all to get the facts about the dangers of Christmas for dogs so we have added the article for you to read. Every single point is very important so no bullets today!  We love your dogs and want the best for them this holiday season. So please, remember to make sure your dog is out of harm’s way this Christmas.
