Easy and Fun Halloween-y Dog Costumes

It’s October, which means it’s (sort of) officially spooky season!!!! Although October in Florida still feels like summer, we can pretend it’s chilly, right? And it’s never too early to begin thinking about Fall or fun Halloween costumes. For your pup, of course!

Thankfully, dog culture has made it possible to get just about any kind of costume in dog-sized options, but it can be hard to know where to start. We’re here to help you make sure your dog is the star of any costume party or doggie costume contest.

So, to get the ball rolling, let’s look at some of the best dog costumes out there that are guaranteed to get your dog plenty of treats (and no tricks).

Jurassic Bark

“What are those?” Those are pup-asauruses! Create your own little kingdom of dino dogs with these adorable costumes.

The Wild, Wild West

This cowboy-themed costume requires minimal effort for maximum yee-haw. This is perfect for any dog who loves to zoom, so saddle up your pup!

A Galaxy Fur, Fur Away

Give in to your inner nerd and have a Star Wars-themed Halloween! Whether you’re a fan of the OG trilogy, the prequels, the sequels, or all of the above, there are plenty of options to put together a band of Rebels, Jedi, or Sith—Fido included! The galaxy offers stellar costume options for the whole family!

King (or Queen) of the Jungle

One of the easiest costumes on the market is this adorable mane that transforms your majestic doggo into the pride of the household. It works great as a standalone dog costume, paired with other safari creatures or explorers, or as the Cowardly Lion in a Wizard of Oz family costume theme.

DIY

If you don’t want to purchase a costume there are plenty of easy, and fun DIY Doggy Costume options. Below are few of our favorites:

The Dirty Cone-Tini

If your dog has to spend the holiday in a cone, that doesn’t mean they have to lose out on the Halloween fun! All you need is a few foam balls, some construction paper, and a dowel, and you can turn Fido into the classiest dirty martini. Bonus points if you dress up as James Bond.

The Beanie Baby

With some poster board and markers, you can turn your fluffy dog into a beloved stuffed animal. The only drawback is that everyone will want to give your pup a hug.

The Ghost of Belly Rubs Past

Embrace the spooky season by turning your dog into the classic white-sheet ghost. Just be sure to cut out enough room for your pet to float around. You will also want to make sure they aren’t tripping on their ghostly costume and get their tail all tangled. We promise they’ll be the cutest friendly ghost haunting the streets.
