Pet Manners I & II
Class Description: This is our equivalent to a basic obedience class. We introduce creative exercises that will keep you and your dog on your toes. We cover focus exercises, sit, down, meet and great, loose leash walking, coming when called, sending to a bed/mat, stay, hand touch, heal position and much more!
Think you’ve got all these skills? Then Pet Manners II is the class for you!
Pet Manners 101
Class Description: Ready for your dog to listen to you and have behavior you’re proud of? Want to have fun while you train? Then this 4-week class is for you! This class is geared toward dogs and puppies 6 months of age and older. Ideally, puppies should attend AKC Puppy S.T.A.R, prior to starting Pet Manners 101. We’ll train the following behaviors: Sit, Down, Place, Come, Stay, Walk on a Loose Leash, and Leave It. Best of all, your dog learns to calmly handle the distractions of other people and dogs. We use positive, reward-based techniques to help you build your relationship with your dog and get great results.
Pet Manners 201
Class Description: This class picks up right where Pet Manners 101 class left off. Dogs learn polite social behaviors and how to behave nicely EVEN around distractions. All the basic behaviors are trained to a higher level of proficiency and reliability. This class is essential for developing a well-behaved companion! We recommend you keep the momentum going by taking Pet Manners 201 immediately after completing Pet Manners 101. If your dog isn’t quite ready for the challenges of Pet Manners 201, your instructor will recommend some great options for getting ready.
Reactive Rover
Class Description: Dogs will learn how to behave properly rather than freak out, bark, lunge or freeze. Dogs are slowly taught self-control exercises (e.g. control their behavior for a treat), relaxation methods (something most reactive dogs find extremely difficult) and positive associations with their triggers (e.g. sight of another dog or the sound of ID tags jingling). Each dog has his or her own set of triggers, which an excellent dog trainer can identify to ensure counterconditioning and desensitization works.
Out & About
Class Description:
This class is our pet manners 101 class, but outside! Our trainers pick 2 locations where we will practice skills learned in 101, but in the real world! This class is perfect for dogs that have been doing well at home and at the facility but need practice in a busier environment.
