Summertime activities for your dog
The sun is up and temperatures are starting to warm up across the country, outside is the perfect place to be with your dog. If you’re a dog owner, I’m sure you feel bad about keeping your furry friend inside during long days at work. Now that it’s summertime, you probably want to include your pup in as many activities as possible. Here are some fun activities for you and your dog to have the perfect bonding experience.
Take your dog to the beach.
This is obviously a win/win situation for you and your dog. Your dog probably loves water just as must as you do on a hot, humid day. Take your dog to the nearest dog beach where he or she can play around and have the time of their lives with the other neighborhood canines. Also, while your dog is burning off all of its energy while playing with others, you can even enjoy a peaceful time for yourself in the sun and catch a tan.
Enjoy happy hour with your dog.
Summertime means that patio season is in full swing. Check with all the local restaurants and bars in your area to see if they are pet-friendly. Again, this summer activity is another win/win for you and your baby. You get to enjoy a nice refreshing cocktail while your dog can lay down and enjoy the outdoors. Not only will your dog be happy she is with you outside, she will also be please to be treated like at queen by all of the other people on the patio.
Enjoy a nice hike with your dog.
Summertime hikes can be the most rewarding activity for you and your dog. When you bring your dog along with you on your hikes, make sure you pack for them as well. Since it will be warm and your dog will be using a lot of energy, make sure you have water and a little food packed to replenish their energy.
Take your dog to the dog park.
Going to the dog park is an effortless way for both you and your dog to make new friends. Bring your dog’s favorite toy along and let him or her show it off and run around with all the other mutts in the park. Let your dog run around and burn their energy with their new fluffy friends. Meanwhile, you can just sit on a bench and enjoy a nice book or catch up on the phone with your friends and family.
Now that it is finally time for summer activities, make sure you include your dog with you whenever you can. Summer is short- so make the best out of it for you and your dog. Be sure to make sure your pet is welcome at these places before you plan to go. Come prepared with a leash and portable water cup for your dog in case he or she gets thirsty in the hot sun.
